"Thanksgiving"

Today, as we sat down to a table full of food, I was reminded of those who don't have near as much as we do. I fuss so much about not having enough money to pay the mortgage or the phone bill. I fuss because I can't buy what I want to buy, when I want to buy it. But I am so blessed. I have food on my table. I have a good place to sleep. I have shoes on my feet. I have a wonderful husband who loves me unconditionally and two exceptional families who love me in spite of myself. I have a little bundle of joy we could have easily gone on to heaven on many occasions but for whatever the reason, God, in His infinite wisdom, chose to leave her here with me and for that I am truly thankful. Let's not forget what Thanksgiving and Christmas are really all about. It's about a loving God who sent His son to this earth to die for our sins. It's about NOT getting what we deserve but by His grace, getting what he wants us to have - a eternal home with Him. Let us take the time over the next few weeks to remember the Jesus is the reason for this season and for every day that He gives us. Let us not take for granted His sacrifice and let us let others see Him through us. You never know but you may be the only Jesus someone sees. So, if the line is too long at Walmart, just smile. Be thankful we live in a country where we can go to Walmart and purchase whatever we want 24 hours a day! But mostly, let's just be thankful.

"Give thanks with a grateful heart;
Give thanks to the holy one.
Give thanks, because He's given Jesus Christ, His son.
And now, let the meak say I am strong.
Let the poor say I am rich,
Because of what the Lord has done for us.
Give thanks."

Thank you, my friends, for being my friends.

Oh, and I found out today that Katy loves sweet potatoes but hates stuffing. I can't say I blame her.

With His love this holiday season,
Kelly
